Who is Gabe?
Gabe has been championing literacy awareness since the age of 7 years. He lives by the quote “The tiny ripples together make the biggest waves”, and says you’re never too young to make a difference. He was honored to accept the 2014 Hasbro Community Action Hero award from GenerationON, and recently hosted a “Kick Hunger” event in conjunction with the National Hunger Campaign. Gabe was also proud to speak for TEDx with a talk entitled “Kid Philanthopism 101”, and has received recognition for his work as a young member of the SAG Foundation Literary Initiative, BookPALS. He will join First Lady Michelle Obama, Mark Wahlberg and Goldie Hawn in an honorary celebrity charity book www.100makingadifference. A film documentary “Heroes Don’t Wear Capes” highlighting Gabe’s literacy non-profit efforts released by Wright Brothers Pictures just as he returned from Guatemala, partnering with Roma Boots to add literacy to boot drops in the villages. He will return to Guatemala this July as a speaker for the Private Sector Education Conference to spearhead the launch of his literacy movement in Guatemala.
Currently, Gabe is shooting a promo to support the “Everyday Hero” campaign in conjunction with Vans “Warped Tour” launching summer 2015. Gabe is an avid reader, and a member of Mensa and John Hopkins Center for Talented Youth. Remaining a kid at heart, he plays tennis, soccer, and any video game he can get his hands on.
